On July 3, a national workshop focusing on the recommendations of the 16th Finance Commission was conducted at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. Panchayati Raj Minister Mr. Madan Dilawar represented the state government during this event.
Mr. Dilawar emphasized that under the leadership of Chief Minister Mr. Bhajanlal Sharma, the state government is actively working to empower Panchayati Raj institutions both financially and administratively, aiming for greater transparency and accountability. He highlighted the necessity of financial decentralization to accelerate rural development and promote self-reliance among local self-governance bodies.
He noted that the effective implementation of the 16th Finance Commission's recommendations will significantly enhance the efficiency of rural local bodies, contributing to the development of infrastructure and the effective execution of welfare schemes. The Rajasthan government is fully committed to implementing these recommendations.
Mr. Dilawar also pointed out that such national workshops play a crucial role in strengthening the spirit of cooperative federalism. They facilitate the exchange of experiences, innovations, and best practices among states, which can make local governance more effective and citizen-centric.
The workshop saw participation from Panchayati Raj ministers from various states, senior administrative officials, and experts in Panchayati Raj and rural development, who engaged in discussions on the effective implementation of the 16th Finance Commission's recommendations and other relevant topics.
