Speaking to news agency IANS, TKS Elangovan said, “How can they (TVK) say that the DMK is involved in horse trading? They are just making a case. Why would the DMK buy an MLA? What is the benefit of it?”
“We are the main opposition party. We cannot form the government with just one MLA, nor is that one MLA going to defeat TVK chief Vijay. Then what is the purpose of buying an MLA? They are plotting and want to prove that we are horse trading,” he said.
TKS Elangovan said, “They (TVK) have talked about Rs 35 crore. What is the purpose of spending Rs 35 crore? He will have to resign from his post. We will have to spend money again for his election. What is the purpose of all this? They just want to accuse DMK of being involved in horse trading.”
On reports of AIADMK joining hands with DMK, TKS Elangovan said, “These are sheer lies. TVK is not acting like a political party. It is behaving like a ‘cinema party’ based on lies.
Meanwhile, on the Mekedatu Dam Project controversy, DMK spokesperson TKS Elangovan said, “This did not happen as long as we were in power. This started after the TVK-Congress alliance came to power. It is the responsibility of the Congress to answer the people of Tamil Nadu.”
