New Delhi: Former Union Minister and Rajya Sabha Member Milind Deora today urged the Municipal Commissioner of the BMC to take immediate measures on war footing, in view of heavy rains in the city, keeping in view the public safety and the welfare.
Posting a message on Deora said no academic day is worth putting the lives of our children and students at risk.
With Mumbai is on Red Alert, due to heavy rains and flash floods, Deora pointed out that with trees falling, severe waterlogging and weather accidents being reported across the city.
He also appealed to employers, wherever feasible, to allow employees to work from home until conditions improve, reducing unnecessary travel and easing pressure on emergency services.
He felt that public safety must come first. Please stay indoors unless absolutely necessary.
