India's young batting prodigy Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is back in the limelight but not for his batting skills this time. The 15-year-old who is yet to make his debut for the country posted a video on his Instagram account which stirred up the cricketing circles.
Sooryavanshi emerged as a huge star in the cricketing world following an unbelievable IPL 2026 where as a 17-year old for the Rajasthan Royals he hit close to 800 runs and was named IPL MVP. Sooryavanshi earned his first India selection as a result of his exploits and was selected to be a member of the T20I touring parties to Ireland and England.
However just as fans are waiting for his debut his social media game of late has become a topic of discussion.
Instagram repost creates online discussion
A social media user alleged that Sooryavanshi had re-reposted an Instagram reel posted by influencer Laila Faisal. The post gained mass popularity after several fans insinuated that the teenager may have inadvertent edited the clip while surfing through her profile.
The social media post read:
Bro, I saw Vaibhav Suryavanshi. He reposted Abhishek sharma's girlfriends reel (Leela faisal). It appeared as if he was viewing her profile and by mistake after viewing he reposted her reel.
The repost was authentic but it would seem that the explanation for would be unconfirmed.

It is worth mentioning at this point that it must be noted that no confirmation of either Abhishek Sharma or Laila Faisal ever having a relationship. Although together several time both have refused to reveal anything about the speculation.
Laila Faisal is an entrepreneur and fashion designer based in London. She is an educated in London she is also the co-founder of most luxurious fashion and lifestyle brand, LRF designs along with her Mother, Roohi Faisal.
She examined psychology at King's College London before finishing a fashion and branding course at the London College of Fashion.
Speculation about her involvement with Abhishek Sharma has been circulating for approximately a year after she uploaded a post in honor of his memorable (for India) 135 not out in a T20I game. Additionally, she allegedly has been present at India matches and IPL matches and has been seen hanging out with Abhishek's sister, Komal Sharma.
India debut still on hold
As the online debate rolls on Sooryavanshi's mind is still on cricket. The teen prodigy has yet to don the Indian jersey, despite being part of the squads for the Ireland and England T20I series.
He was absent for both matches in Ireland, where India were shockingly beaten 2-0 in the series. He was also not a part of the playing XI in the first T20I against England.
In the meantime Abhishek Sharma the left-handed opening batter seems to have maintained his case just fine. Though his 49 in the 1 st T20I against Ireland hasn't yielded a result the young gun was brilliant in his next outing against England. IPL legend hit 59 off just 24 balls in the innings and as result India posted a big score of 189/7 before the game was washed away by the rain.
India and England meanwhile, will now clash in the second T20I scheduled to take place in Manchester on July 4. Abhishek Sharma is surely going to command the top-order once again but supporters will also be looking forward for Sooryavanshi to finally make it to the international stage.
