The process of providing relief and rehabilitation to families impacted by the Kangra Airport expansion is gaining momentum in Valswalakad village, Gaggal. Recently, the land acquisition team obtained agreement from affected families regarding their preferred rehabilitation choices.
According to Project Coordinator Ranjit Thakur, 85 families from Valswalakad have chosen the first package, which offers a one-time compensation of ₹37 lakh per family. He emphasized that the administration presented various rehabilitation options to the families, ensuring a transparent process.
Thakur remarked, “All families received comprehensive information about the available options before their consent was documented.” He also mentioned that consultations with the remaining families will occur shortly to finalize their decisions.
This initiative represents a crucial advancement in providing equitable compensation and rehabilitation for residents affected by the airport expansion.
