A major update has emerged for LPG consumers. Under the new system implemented by the government and oil companies, many consumers may stop receiving LPG subsidies starting in July. In particular, those who have not completed the necessary procedures could face a direct impact.

**Subsidy to stop if e-KYC is not completed**
The most significant rule relates to e-KYC. The government had clarified that LPG consumers who failed to complete their e-KYC by June 30 could have their subsidy suspended. This process involves Aadhaar-based verification and has been made mandatory to weed out ineligible or fake beneficiaries.

**These individuals will not receive the LPG subsidy**
Under the new system, certain categories are already excluded from the subsidy:

*   Those with an annual income exceeding ₹10 lakh
*   Those who voluntarily gave up the subsidy under the "Give It Up" campaign
*   Those who do not complete e-KYC or Aadhaar linking

According to government regulations, families with an income of over ₹10 lakh are not eligible for the LPG subsidy benefit.

**Why have the rules become stricter?**
The government's objective is to ensure the subsidy reaches the intended recipients and to bring transparency to the system. Making e-KYC mandatory will help curb fake connections and eliminate duplicate beneficiaries. Additionally, beneficiaries of the Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) receive a subsidy of up to ₹300 per cylinder, which is transferred directly to their bank accounts (via the DBT system).

**What should consumers do?**
If you wish to continue receiving the LPG subsidy benefit, you should immediately:
1.  Complete the e-KYC process
2.  Link your Aadhaar with your bank account
3.  Get verified through the official app or your gas agency

Rules regarding LPG subsidies have become stricter from July. If you have not yet completed your e-KYC or do not meet the income criteria, you risk losing the subsidy. Therefore, it is crucial to complete the necessary procedures promptly.
