Etah, July 3. Four people were killed and 11 other passengers were injured in a tragic road accident in Uttar Pradesh’s Etah district late on Friday night. The accident happened near Kilarmau of Bagwala police station area, where a speeding canter hit the Uttar Pradesh Roadways bus parked badly on the roadside from behind. According to the information, the roadways bus of Etah depot was going from Farrukhabad to Delhi. When there was a technical fault on the way, the bus was stopped on the roadside and was being repaired. During this time, most of the passengers got down from the bus and were standing on the roadside, while some people were sitting inside the bus.
Meanwhile, the speeding canter went out of control and collided with the back of the bus. The collision was so severe that there was chaos and screams on the spot. As soon as the information was received, the police and administration team reached the spot and took the injured to the hospital with the help of ambulance. Confirming the incident, Etah District Magistrate Arvind Singh said that the passengers standing on the roadside suffered the most injuries in the accident. Doctors at the hospital declared four passengers dead, while a total of 11 people were injured. The condition of one passenger is said to be serious and his treatment is going on.
According to the District Magistrate, preliminary information has revealed that when the canter reached near the bus, at the same time a truck was coming from the front. While trying to avoid the truck, the canter driver lost control of the vehicle and hit the roadways bus from behind. As soon as information about the incident was received, senior police and administration officials including SP City, SDM, CO City, CO Sadar reached the hospital and took stock of the relief and rescue work. At present the process of identification of the dead is going on. The administration says that the real causes of the accident will be investigated. Police have registered the case and started further action.
