The biggest update of the newly launched XEV 9E is the addition of the Satin Desert Myst exterior finish. This time around, unlike the standard gloss paint, the satin finish gives the XEV 9E a richer and more sophisticated appearance. And, as is the case with all satin colours, the Satin Desert Myst colour highlights the sharp body lines and coupe-inspired design of the SUV.

On March 1st this year, Mahindra launched the XEV 9E Cinelux Edition in Satin Black and Satin White finishes. Now, with the addition of Satin Desert Myst, buyers get another premium exterior option to choose from.

Another major highlight of the Cinelux Edition is its exclusive new Chestnut Brown and Nocturne Black smooth-grain leatherette upholstery inside the cabin. According to Mahindra, with the Cinelux Edition, it has focused on improving surface detailing, texture refinement, and tactile quality to make the cabin feel even more luxurious.

Apart from the new colour combination, the XEV 9E Cinelux offers one of the most feature-loaded cabins in its segment. One of the biggest highlights remains the panoramic display setup, which stretches almost the entire width of the dashboard. This setup comprises three interconnected 31.24 cm screens, including a fully digital instrument cluster, a central infotainment display, and a dedicated passenger display.

The SUV also comes equipped with Mahindra’s MAIA (Mahindra Artificial Intelligence Architecture). It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 processor. Additionally, the SUV also gets 24 GB RAM and 128 GB of onboard storage for smooth operation of connected features and infotainment functions.

Other premium features include a 16-speaker Harman Kardon audio system with Dolby Atmos, Mahindra VisionX augmented reality head-up display, panoramic glass roof, Level 2+ ADAS, 360-degree camera, and Auto Park.

The Cinelux Edition also offers a few exclusive convenience features as well. It now gets a Digital Key, which helps owners unlock and start the vehicle using digital authentication instead of relying solely on the physical key. Mahindra has also added Secure 360 Pro along with personalised driver profiles.

These profiles can automatically remember seat positions, ambient lighting settings, and display preferences for different drivers. Another major highlight is the addition of three dedicated HVAC modes. The Camp Mode allows occupants to comfortably use the cabin while the vehicle is stationary.

Meanwhile, the Keep Mode maintains the desired cabin temperature even when parked. Lastly, the PawPal Mode has been specifically designed for pet owners, helping maintain a comfortable and safe cabin environment while pets remain inside the vehicle for short durations.

Mechanically, Mahindra has not changed anything. The XEV 9E Cinelux is still based on the top-of-the-line Pack Three variant of this SUV. It comes powered by the larger 79 kWh battery pack, which Mahindra claims delivers over 500 km of real-world driving range. The SUV has a claimed certified range of 656 km on a full charge.

It also supports a 175 kW DC fast charger, and with this, the battery can be charged from 20 to 80 percent in just 20 minutes. Its power comes from a rear-mounted electric motor, which makes 282 bhp and 380 Nm of torque. The SUV also offers multiple drive modes, which help drivers customize the driving characteristics according to their preferences.
