Leeds United are facing increasing competition to re-sign goalkeeper Karl Darlow following the expiration of his contract on Tuesday, with Everton reportedly showing interest, according to Sky Sports. The Toffees are looking to strengthen their goalkeeping depth behind Jordan Pickford and Mark Travers.

Leeds have offered Darlow a new contract, but the 35-year-old shot-stopper is said to be exploring his options. Manchester United are also in the mix, as they seek experienced backup for their goalkeeping department.

The Red Devils are searching for a reliable understudy to support first-choice Senne Lammens, who joined the club last year in an £18 million deal. Altay Bayindir and Andre Onana could both move on this summer, with Onana expected to complete a loan switch to Trabzonspor, while Bayindir’s future remains uncertain.

Darlow would represent an affordable and low-risk signing, being both homegrown and a Wales international. He featured in 22 of Leeds United’s 38 Premier League fixtures last season, reclaiming the starting role earlier this year after Lucas Perri’s costly errors in matches against Manchester United and Newcastle United.

The goalkeeping situation at Elland Road remains uncertain, with Perri currently the only senior keeper under contract. A new agreement with Alex Cairns is believed to be verbally settled but has yet to be officially confirmed. Illan Meslier is also a free agent and has reportedly attracted Premier League interest from Arsenal. Meanwhile, Parma’s Zion Suzuki is admired by the club, though no formal approach has been made.
