Almost all preparations for the Shri Amarnath Yatra in Jammu and Kashmir have been completed. The process of on-the-spot registration and the issuance of RFID cards for pilgrims began in Jammu today, Wednesday, July 1. On Friday, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha will flag off the first batch of pilgrims.
According to the news agency IANS, a large number of pilgrims were seen queuing up in Jammu for on-the-spot registration and RFID cards. Immense enthusiasm was observed among the devotees regarding the Amarnath Yatra. Speaking to IANS, one pilgrim said, "I am very excited. I didn't expect to get a chance in the first batch; I had been trying for quite some time."
**Pilgrims Praise the Arrangements**
Devotees in Jammu appreciated the arrangements made for the Amarnath Yatra. One pilgrim remarked, "I went on the pilgrimage last time as well, and I am going again this time. The arrangements look very good."
A pilgrim scheduled to travel in the third batch said, "I am going on the pilgrimage for the third time. All the facilities are good. Although there is some hassle regarding registration and RFID cards, one feels a great sense of relief and confidence afterwards that one will be able to have *darshan* of Baba."
Meanwhile, a large number of devotees are arriving at the pilgrim transit camp in Srinagar ahead of the departure of the first batch. One pilgrim said, "I am very happy. I am going there for the first time."
A female pilgrim mentioned that she, too, had come for the Amarnath Yatra for the first time. She said, "We arrived at the transit camp on Wednesday night. The arrangements here are good; there is no shortage of anything."
**Yatra to Begin on July 3**
It is worth noting that the Amarnath Yatra will commence on July 3 and conclude on August 28. It takes approximately four days to reach the shrine via the Pahalgam route. The route from Baltal is shorter, allowing pilgrims to return on the same day after *darshan*.
