Stebin Ben and Nupur Sanonrecently found themselves at the centre of an unexpected social media debate. A video of the couple stepping out with their families went viral after several users claimed Stebin’s mother ignored Nupur and her family before walking away. Now, the singer has finally reacted to the chatter and explained what actually happened. The clip quickly sparked speculation, but Stebin has now addressed what really happened.
Stebin Ben Explains The Viral Family VideoSpeaking to Galatta India, Stebin said there was no awkwardness between the families and explained that his parents simply aren’t comfortable around the media.
He shared, “My parents are very simple people. Whenever they see the media, they quietly move away because they feel that the media is there for me, not for them. They think, ‘This is your profession. People want to see you, not us.'”

According to the singer, his parents didn’t even realise photographers were standing there until the camera flashes went off.
Stebin explained that his parents only noticed the photographers after the camera flashes went off. By then, they had already started walking ahead. He and Nupur followed behind, and although Nupur tried calling them back, they didn’t realise it. According to him, his parents simply wanted to move away from the media.

Stebin also responded to the online claims suggesting there’s tension between Nupur and his mother, saying the reality is exactly the opposite.
“People are saying Nupur got a dangerous mother-in-law, but it’s exactly the opposite. If you meet my parents, you’ll understand they’re the simplest people. Their whole life revolves around their children,” he said.

To explain how close the two actually are, Stebin shared a glimpse of their family life at home.
Sharing an example from their daily life, Stebin revealed that family game nights usually see his mother and Nupur playing together, while he and his father make up the other team. He said it perfectly reflects the relationship they have built.
He also shared that his parents had once planned to retire and settle in Kerala because they loved the peaceful life there, but eventually decided to stay close to their children instead.
