Senior Congress leader KC Venu Gopal says that the action taken so far by the SIT formed to investigate the Ram Mandir donation theft controversy is just for show. He alleged that SIR has been created to protect big names. He wrote in

KC Venu Gopal further said, “The Ayodhya Ram temple was constructed, after the Supreme Court decision, on government land and through a public trust set up by the Government of India. Whatever happens in the administration of the temple, the entire responsibility of whatever happens in the administration of the temple lies with the central government. There were several warnings from different places about the theft, but they were repeatedly ignored and when crores of rupees were being looted, those responsible Deliberately looked the other way.”

Questioning the SIT’s action, the Congress leader said, “The SIT action we have seen so far is also just a show; it is clearly designed to protect the ‘big people’. This is a far more serious matter than a simple robbery; it attacks the way faith is corrupted – first for political gain and then to make money.” He further wrote, “I have written a letter to the Prime Minister demanding that this big scam of theft of donations be immediately investigated under the supervision of the Supreme Court.”
