New Delhi: Rajya Sabha Chairman Shri CP Radhakrishnan on Monday administered the oath/affirmation to seven newly elected and re-elected Members in the Rajya Sabha Chamber.
The Members who took oath were Mansingh Meraman Parmar, Tarun Chugh, Dr Alka Singh, Jitendra Meghjibhai Kanzariya, Rajendra Hiralal Jain, M Nagaraja and Adhikarimayum Sharda Devi.
According to the Rajya Sabha Secretariat, four Members took oath or affirmation in Hindi, while one each took oath in Kannada, Punjabi and Manipuri. Of the seven Members, two belong to Gujarat, while one each is from Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Manipur and Rajasthan.
The ceremony was attended by Deputy Chairman of Rajya Sabha Shri Harivansh, Leader of the House and Union Minister Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Shri Kiren Rijiju, Minister of State for Law and Justice Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal, Rajya Sabha Members Shri Jairam Ramesh and Shri Praful Patel, Secretary General Shri PC Mody and other senior officials of the Rajya Sabha Secretariat.
