In a remarkable display of efficiency, the Nurpur Police successfully solved a murder case in Jawali within a day, apprehending the suspect. Superintendent of Police (SP) Nurpur recognized the police team’s efforts by awarding them CC‑3 Commendation Certificates.
Details of the Incident
Incident Overview: On June 24, 2026, between 1:00 and 1:10 PM, Subhash Chand, aged 50, from Mandol village in Tehsil Jawali, was viciously attacked with a sharp object in his cowshed by an unknown assailant, resulting in his death. The Jawali Police promptly arrived at the scene after being alerted.
Investigation and Arrest
Investigation Process: Due to the serious nature of the crime, SP Nurpur and SDPO Jawali conducted a thorough examination of the crime scene. Forensic experts and technical teams gathered crucial evidence, leading to the registration of FIR No. 119/2026 under Section 103 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at the Jawali Police Station.
Through a meticulously organized investigation, authorities apprehended the suspect, Rashpal Singh (22), son of Vikram Singh, also from Mandol village, within 24 hours. The murder weapon, identified as a sickle (darāt), was also recovered.
