Like every year, this year too the devotees are very excited to have darshan of Baba Barfani. This time, the administration has made many big arrangements to make the journey of the devotees going on Amarnath Yatra convenient and more safe. If you are preparing to go on Amarnath Yatra, then definitely know about this year’s new facilities and important rules. If you set out for the journey with complete information, your attention will not be distracted and the darshan will also take place comfortably.

Amarnath Yatra will start from 3rd July 2026 this year and will continue till 28th August 2026. The special thing is that this time the administration made the yatra for 57 days so that more and more devotees could visit the holy cave. Some devotees have already reached the base camp for Baba’s darshan. On June 29, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha was the first to reach the cave and started the holy journey.

What’s new this time?

1. Introduction of Identification QR System

This time identification QR system has been implemented for passengers. With this, the identity and movement of every devotee can be quickly confirmed, which will further improve security.

2. Technology based security system

The use of drones, CCTV and modern surveillance technologies has been increased along with multi-layer security on the yatra route. Additional security forces have also been deployed in sensitive areas.

3. Better medical facilities

Medical camps, ambulances, oxygen facilities and emergency health services have been strengthened more than before along the entire yatra route. Special arrangements have been made for health problems to high-altitude.

4. Improvement in communication system

Telecom infrastructure has been strengthened to provide better mobile network and communication facilities to the devotees during the Yatra, so that they can be contacted easily if needed.

5. Traffic management and convoy on time

To avoid jams on the travel route, fixed cut-off times have been fixed for vehicles at different checkpoints. Operation of convoys on both Baltal and Pahalgam routes will be as per the fixed schedule.

6. Accommodation

This time around 4000 new centers have been built for the devotees in which devotees can rest. The special thing is that there is no need to spend a single rupee to stay in this centre.

7. Group Registration Facility

Group registration facility has also been made available for groups of 5 or more people, making it easier to plan a trip together.

8. Rate fixed for horse palanquin

There are many people who take the help of horse or palanquin to reach Amarnath cave. In such a situation, the people there rob the devotees by telling them different prices. Therefore, this time the government has fixed one rate for all horse-drawn palanquins. There are pre-paid counters for all these from where you can also do pre-booking.
