Andhra Pradesh, Telangana Weather LATEST Update: The IMD has issued a rain alert. The SW Monsoon, low-pressure system, a trough, a surface circulation are all hitting Telugu states. Weather reports say this will cause heavy to very heavy rains
A high wind alert is in place. The Southwest Monsoon is currently active, and a low-pressure system is continuing. A surface circulation and a trough have also joined them. Due to the combined effect of all these, rains have picked up in both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. These rains are expected to intensify in early July. Weather experts are warning of possible heavy to very heavy rainfall. The Telangana Weatherman has made an interesting announcement about the weather conditions in Telangana, which might cause some concern among people.
The Telangana Weatherman has revealed that strong, gusty winds will continue across the state for the next five to six days. He warned that a strong low-pressure system will increase the wind intensity. Especially during the morning and afternoon, winds will blow at speeds of 50 to 60 km/h. These gusty winds have already started, and the Telangana Weatherman warns they will be even more severe from July 2 to 5. Weatherman Balaji is also warning that Hyderabad city will not be spared. He says the city has many large hoardings, flex banners, and towers in residential areas, which increases the risk of accidents from these winds. He advises that people should be alert as there could be accidents from damaged electric poles, snapped power lines, and falling tree branches.
The Telangana Weatherman has warned that besides gusty winds, the state will also see heavy rains. He said that the low-pressure system will cause downpours in the northern and eastern districts of Telangana. The remaining districts will likely get moderate rainfall. The Telangana Weatherman stated that this situation will continue for the next six days. Weather experts say that while June didn't see expected rainfall, July will be different with heavy showers. Heavy rains are already falling in Telangana. The Hyderabad Meteorological Centre is warning that Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, and Khammam districts will definitely see heavy rains today (June 30, Tuesday). They say the rains will likely spread to more districts by tomorrow. On July 1 (Wednesday), the centre has warned of heavy rains in Adilabad, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Mahabubabad, Warangal, and Hanamkonda districts. Other districts will see scattered showers and moderate rain in some places. The weather department has also warned of gusty winds across all Telangana districts.
The Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority (APSDMA) has announced that today (June 30, Tuesday), North Andhra, Kakinada, Konaseema, East Godavari, West Godavari, Eluru, Krishna, and NTR districts will see scattered showers and heavy rain in some places. APSDMA MD Prakhar Jain stated that other districts might also experience light to moderate rain with lightning. Prakhar Jain has advised everyone to be alert as there is a risk of accidents from lightning and strong winds. He urged people to move to safe shelters and stay away from trees and poles as soon as the sky becomes cloudy and they hear thunder. Prakhar Jain also advised the public that it is safer to stay away from water bodies like ponds, fountains, and swimming pools, as well as open areas, during thunder and lightning.READ NEXT
