After a long wait, finally on Tuesday, June 30, the south-west monsoon has arrived through Sonbhadra-Maharajganj in Uttar Pradesh. There is a possibility of moderate to heavy rain with strong winds in the entire state till July 6. Today, an alert of heavy rain has been issued in 26 districts, while a warning of wind speed of 30 to 50 km/hour along with thunder and lightning has been issued in more than 50 cities.
There will be an increase in rain activities in the state during the next 24 to 48 hours. The weather remained changed in many districts on Saturday (27 June 2026). The maximum temperature in Agra was recorded at 42.9 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature in Hardoi was 20 degrees Celsius. From June 1 to 29, the entire state has recorded less than 59 percent rainfall. Eastern Uttar Pradesh has received 64 percent rainfall and Western Uttar Pradesh has received less than 50 percent rainfall.
According to the latest daily report of Meteorological Center (IMD), Lucknow, at present cyclonic circulation, western disturbance and trough are active and monsoon has also entered the state. Due to its effect, there is a possibility of moderate to heavy rain with thunderstorms in western and eastern Uttar Pradesh till July 6. During this period, there is also a possibility of thunder and lightning along with gusty winds at a speed of 40 to 60 km per hour.
