Sony TV launch in India

Sony has launched the Bravia 9 II and Bravia 7 II in India, expanding its premium 4K TV range with new True RGB LED panels and the Cognitive Processor XR. The company is positioning both models as high-end options for viewers who want stronger colour accuracy, brightness and gaming support.

The Bravia 7 II has already gone on sale in India, while the Bravia 9 II has also been introduced as the more premium model in the range. Sony says the new TVs are built around its latest RGB backlight architecture, designed to improve picture quality across different types of content.

Display and picture features

The Bravia 7 II uses True RGB technology with independently controlled red, green and blue LEDs. Sony says this improves colour reproduction, reduces blooming and delivers deeper contrast compared with conventional Mini LED displays.

The TVs are powered by the Cognitive Processor XRwhich is used to enhance brightness, motion and image clarity. The Bravia 7 II also supports Dolby Vision, HDR10, HLG and IMAX Enhancedmaking it suitable for movies, streaming and high-end content playback.

Gaming and sound support

Sony has included features aimed at gaming and home cinema users. The Bravia 7 II supports 4K 120fps, VRR and GENERALalongside Dolby Vision Gaming and a dedicated game menu.

Audio support includes Dolby Atmos, DTS:X and Sony’s own surround processing features. The TV also offers Voice Zoom 3which is designed to improve dialogue clarity, especially during films and TV shows.

Price and availability

The Bravia 7 II is available in multiple sizes in India, including 55-inch, 65-inch, 75-inch, 85-inch and 98-inch variants. Sony has opened sales through its own stores, online channels and major retail partners, with larger-screen models set to roll out later in the launch cycle.

The Bravia 9 II is the flagship model in the new range, with larger premium screen sizes and Sony’s top-tier RGB TV positioning. The company has not framed the launch as a limited preview, but as a full expansion of its high-end television portfolio in India.
