Arsenal have been told in no uncertain terms to step away after Bournemouth turned down their initial approach for midfielder Alex Scott, as Mikel Arteta continues his push to strengthen the team’s midfield options. Despite Scott’s growing profile, the Cherries have made it clear they have no plans to part ways with one of their most valuable players this summer.

Bournemouth Stand Firm on Alex Scott

According to reports from the BBC, Arsenal’s early enquiry for Scott has been swiftly dismissed, dealing an early blow to their midfield recruitment plans. The 22-year-old has emerged as a prominent target for the Gunners, who are aiming to add more technical skill and dynamism to their midfield setup ahead of another Premier League title bid.

Bournemouth, however, have no desire to let the former Bristol City player go. The club are instead working towards extending his contract, which currently runs for another two years. They view Scott as a key part of their long-term vision and have made it clear that offers will not be entertained in this transfer window.

Top Clubs Join the Chase for the England Prospect

Arsenal are not alone in their admiration for Scott. His consistent performances at the Vitality Stadium have drawn attention from several Premier League heavyweights, with Manchester City, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, and Chelsea all reportedly tracking his progress as his reputation continues to grow.

Scott’s value has climbed further following his recent international breakthrough. After earning his first England call-up last November, he was later invited to Thomas Tuchel’s provisional pre-World Cup training camp in Florida. Although he did not make his debut, that experience has only fuelled interest from the league’s top clubs.

Arsenal Exploring Alternative Midfield Options

With Bournemouth unwilling to budge on Scott — who featured in 39 matches and scored four goals last season — Arsenal have been forced to explore other targets in the transfer market. The Gunners have reportedly considered approaches for Newcastle United’s midfield duo, Bruno Guimaraes and Sandro Tonali, as they continue to hunt for a marquee addition in that position. Of the two, Guimaraes is viewed as the more attainable option, with Tonali’s high valuation posing a significant challenge.

North London Rivals Eye Tonali Deal

While Arsenal have found Tonali’s price tag difficult to justify, their North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur are pushing ahead with their own pursuit. Spurs are believed to be making progress in negotiations and are increasingly confident of landing the Italy international, which could see them beat Arteta’s side to yet another key transfer target.
