New Delhi:- Almost everyone likes sweet food. Be it a festival, wedding, birthday or any happy occasion, the celebration seems incomplete without sweets. But health experts say that it is not just how much sweet we eat that matters, but at what time we eat it is equally important. Eating sweets at the wrong time can increase blood sugar rapidly and gradually increases the risk of weight gain.
Why is it not good to eat sweets on an empty stomach in the morning?
According to Ayurveda experts, many people have a habit of eating biscuits, chocolates, sweets or other sweet things as soon as they wake up in the morning. Doing so is considered harmful for the body. By eating sweets on an empty stomach, the sugar present in it dissolves very quickly in the blood.
Sudden fluctuations in blood sugar can increase problems
Eating sweets on an empty stomach increases blood sugar rapidly and may suddenly come down after some time. Due to this, one starts feeling hungry quickly, one may feel weakness in the body and the desire to eat sweets again and again also increases.
Eating sweets after meals is considered a better option.
Experts say that if you have to eat sweets then it is considered better to eat them in limited quantity after the main meal. When dal, roti, vegetable, rice, salad or other nutritious food is eaten first, then the body gets adequate fiber, protein and essential nutrients.
Fiber and protein slow down the effect of sugar
The fiber and protein present in food allow the sugar present in sweets to be slowly absorbed in the body. Due to this, blood sugar does not increase suddenly and there is no additional pressure on the body. This is the reason why doctors also recommend eating small amounts of sweets after meals.
Eating too many sweets at night can prove costly
According to doctors, the way the body works is different during day and night. At night the body prepares for rest. In such a situation, eating sweets in large quantities causes excess sugar and calories to accumulate in the body, which can increase the risk of weight gain and worsening of blood sugar.
It is considered better to eat sweets in limited quantity in the afternoon.
According to scientific studies, the habit of repeatedly eating sweets at night can cause many health problems in the future. If you want to eat sweets, it is better to eat them in small quantities after lunch, because the body remains more active during the day and uses energy more effectively.
