The record-shattering, all-electric McMurtry Spéirling supercar is now just a week away from its official debut in a production-ready avatar.
McMurtry Automotive has released a teaser of the Spéirling Pure, the production version of its single-seat electric hypercar, showing only a shadowy silhouette. However, enthusiasts shouldn't expect this new version to be identical to the 1000-horsepower prototypes showcased earlier. According to McMurtry, the Spéirling Pure features 95 percent newly developed components compared to the earlier prototype.
The Spéirling shot to global fame after setting lap-time records at the 2022 Goodwood Festival of Speed and again at the Laguna Seca Raceway in 2024. The ultra-compact, single-seater hypercar is powered by a 60-kWh battery pack paired with twin electric motors mounted on the rear axle. But what truly sets the Spéirling apart is its unique Downforce-on-Demand system. This setup employs two powerful fans that can produce up to 4400 pounds of downforce even when stationary, effectively pulling the car closer to the track surface for maximum grip.
While McMurtry has yet to disclose specific performance figures for the Spéirling Pure, the company has stated that the production model aims to enhance ownership experience and overall usability. That may sound unusual for an all-carbon, single-seat hypercar, but considering the extreme performance the vehicle offers, it’s clear that McMurtry is focusing on making the car more accessible and manageable for track use.
The Spéirling Pure will see a limited production run of just 100 units. This track-exclusive electric hypercar will be built in Cotswolds, England, with customer deliveries scheduled to start in late 2026. Pricing and further availability details are yet to be announced.
