New Delhi. Former Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina has made a big announcement about returning to her country. In an interview given to news channel NDTV, Sheikh Hasina has said that she will return to Bangladesh by the end of this year. Bangladesh court has sentenced Sheikh Hasina to death. Many other cases are pending against Sheikh Hasina in Bangladesh. Sheikh Hasina said that it is not a question of her ambition to return to Bangladesh. Sheikh Hasina said that this is an issue to the political rights of the people of Bangladesh, restoration of democracy, rule of law and the spirit of liberation struggle.

Sheikh Hasina took the name of her father Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and said that she does politics to realize his dream of Sonar Bangla. Sheikh Hasina described the court’s decision against her as illegal, unconstitutional and politically motivated. He said that the judiciary in Bangladesh was made a weapon of revenge. So that the leadership of Awami League can be eliminated. Sheikh Hasina said that such attempts had failed earlier also. She said that she is not afraid of death. Sheikh Hasina said that she lost her family including her father in 1975. Then he himself suffered a grenade attack. Despite many conspiracies, she stood with the people. The public elected PM 5 times.

Sheikh Hasina said about her Awami League party that it is not an organization made on paper, but a political force linked to the soil, history and people of Bangladesh. Awami League faced many attacks and restrictions, but it emerged back with the power of the people. He said that democracy, law and order and economic stability have weakened in Bangladesh during the interim government and then the BNP government. Minorities are insecure and radicalism is increasing. Sheikh Hasina said people know that Bangladesh was more secure and stable under Awami League rule. He also denied any backchannel talks with the BNP government of Bangladesh for his return.
