A major road accident took place late night on the Indore-Ujjain Highway, in which the Sapna Travels passenger bus went out of control and overturned. The incident occurred near Meghdoot Hotel between 1 am and 1:30 am. About 20 passengers were injured in this accident, the condition of some of whom is said to be critical.

The bus was going from Indore bus stand to Nanakheda bus stand in Ujjain carrying passengers. But on the way, this painful accident happened, which shocked the happiness of many families.

How the bus on Indore-Ujjain route overturned

This accident happened when the bus reached near Meghdoot Hotel. According to eyewitnesses, the speed of the bus was very high and the driver allegedly lost control. It is being told that there were more passengers in the bus than its capacity and many people were traveling standing, due to which there was already a danger of the balance being disturbed.

During this time the bus suddenly climbed the divider and overturned. The road was already slippery due to rain, due to which the bus became completely unbalanced. Immediately after the accident, there was screaming among the passengers. Many people got buried under the seats and the local people had to put in a lot of effort to pull some out.

20 passengers injured

About 20 passengers have been injured in this painful road accident. Some of them have suffered minor injuries, while many passengers have been admitted to hospital with serious injuries.

The injured also included a family that was returning after attending a wedding ceremony in Indore. Family members said that the bus suddenly overturned with such a force that no one got a chance to recover. After the accident, there was an atmosphere of chaos inside the bus.

Many passengers said that the bus was already overcrowded and there was no space to sit. People were forced to travel while standing, due to which the situation worsened at the time of the accident.

Local people immediately reached the spot and started relief work and informed the police. Local people played an important role in taking out the injured and taking them to the hospital.

Police and administration action

As soon as information about the accident was received, Nanakheda police station immediately reached the spot. Police started relief and rescue operations and sent all the injured to the district hospital.

The administration has taken possession of the accident bus and started investigation. In the initial investigation, overloading and high speed are being considered as the main reasons for the accident. Along with this, medical examination of the driver is also being conducted to find out whether he was drunk or not.

Police have registered a case against the bus operator and further legal action has been initiated. The transport department is also separately investigating the incident to determine whether the bus followed safety rules.
