According to a report from La Gazzetta dello Sport, AC Milan are making notable progress in their discussions with Paris Saint-Germain regarding the potential transfer of Portuguese forward Gonçalo Ramos.

The 25-year-old forward has largely been a rotational player in the French capital since his €65 million switch from Benfica three years ago. Despite being part of a squad that has claimed consecutive UEFA Champions League titles, Ramos is now seeking a move to secure more regular playing time. His agent, Jorge Mendes, is currently handling the negotiations.

Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly asking for around €45 million to part ways with Ramos. Milan have not yet reached that valuation but are expected to do so soon, as the player is believed to be seeking an annual salary exceeding €4 million.

Ramos is well known to the new Rossoneri manager, Ruben Amorim, who previously faced the striker when he guided Sporting CP in the Primeira Liga. During that period, Ramos helped Benfica clinch the league title, leaving a lasting impression on Amorim.

Ruben Amorim is determined to make his mark at San Siro, and should he succeed in bringing Ramos on board, the Portuguese striker could become a key figure in his project.

Once regarded as one of Portugal’s most exciting young attacking talents, Ramos has only shown flashes of his ability at the Parc des Princes. A move to Milan could provide the platform he needs to fulfil his potential, especially after the club’s disappointing end to last season and the expected departures in their attacking department.

Ramos’ compatriot, Rafa Leão, might play a crucial part in facilitating this move, as his potential transfer could generate the funds required to secure Ramos. For the forward, Milan could represent the ideal stage to establish himself as a leading striker for a Champions League regular.
