Health effects of chocolate
Do you know how beneficial chocolate can be for your heart? Recent research has revealed that consuming chocolate once a week can reduce the risk of heart diseases. A study published in the European Journal of Preventive Cardiology suggests that chocolate helps keep blood vessels healthy.
Researchers also found that chocolate consumption was helpful in controlling blood pressure and improving the health of blood vessels. The association between chocolate consumption and coronary artery disease has been studied over the past five decades, with a wide range of participants reporting their chocolate consumption.
Over the course of about nine years, some participants developed coronary artery disease, while very few had heart attacks. According to research, people who consume chocolate once a week reduce their risk of coronary artery disease by 8%.
Chocolate contains many nutrients, such as flavonoids, methylxanthines, polyphenols, and stearic acid, which help reduce inflammation and increase good cholesterol. Experts suggest that consuming dark chocolate is more beneficial, but other types of chocolate can also be eaten. Apart from this, chocolate is also helpful in reducing weight and enhancing the beauty of the skin.
