Former Manchester United icon Rio Ferdinand has publicly reached out to Real Madrid midfielder Aurélien Tchouaméni this week, encouraging him to bring his skills to Old Trafford during the upcoming transfer window.

The French international has recently been strongly linked with a potential move to Manchester United. Reports suggest that the Red Devils view the ex-AS Monaco player as the perfect candidate to strengthen their midfield options ahead of next season.

Ferdinand disclosed that he has already had private discussions with the 26-year-old midfielder, expressing his belief that Manchester United would be the ideal destination for Tchouaméni’s next career step.

“If Tchouaméni even thinks about leaving Real Madrid, Manchester United must be the first club to come knocking and ensure no one else gets a chance to talk to him,” Ferdinand said. “Tchouaméni, we’ve had a few private chats.
