In a surprising turn of events, Indian fast bowler Prasidh Krishna has set an unfortunate record in his T20 career, becoming the first bowler globally to concede a staggering 125 runs in just two consecutive T20 innings.

This record was established during a challenging match against Ireland in Belfast, where Krishna allowed 57 runs in his four overs without claiming a single wicket. His previous record for runs conceded was 68 runs against Australia in Guwahati earlier in 2023.

A Disastrous Over: 27 Runs in One Go

Krishna was introduced into the bowling attack in the seventh over and initially performed decently. However, he quickly faced difficulties, giving away 14 runs in that over after being hit for two sixes. Although he managed to regain some control in subsequent overs, he still faced challenges, including a boundary from Gareth Delany.

Upon returning for the 12th over, Krishna showed promise with his pace and swing but faltered when a yorker attempt turned into a full toss, which was easily hit for a four.

Many fans are puzzled by Krishna's inconsistency, especially considering his strong performances in the IPL compared to his struggles in international matches. Against teams like Ireland, he has faced significant runs, conceding 57 runs in just four overs.

A Nightmarish Final Over

Krishna's final over was particularly disastrous. The first ball was dispatched for a boundary by George Dockrell, followed by Gareth Delany hitting a four and then three consecutive sixes.

This over resulted in 27 runs being scored, marking it as the most expensive over bowled by an Indian against Ireland in T20 history. Despite his attempts to bowl yorkers and slower deliveries, he could not halt the onslaught.

Concerns Over Consistency

Fans and analysts have raised concerns about Krishna's inconsistency, which has made him a target for criticism. His selection as a replacement for the injured Mohammed Siraj raised eyebrows, given his recent performances.

Thanks to Krishna's costly bowling, Ireland managed to set a competitive total of 182 for 9 in their allotted 20 overs.
