Politics has intensified on the issue of theft of Ram temple offerings. Meanwhile, questions are also being raised regarding the gold and silver jewelery donated by people in the Ram temple. Shiv Sena UBT MP Sanjay Raut has also raised a big question. “Serious questions are being raised over the disappearance of 4 kg silver brick donated by Shiv Sena for the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya,” he wrote in a social media post.

Sanjay Raut further wrote, “Uddhav Thackeray had donated Rs 1 crore and a sacred silver brick with an open heart in the presence of thousands of Shiv Sainiks and saints. Yet even after years, no receipt or update has been received from the Trust. Where did this brick go? Now the time has come for a complete investigation and accountability.”

An FIR has been registered against eight people on Thursday by Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust in the case to theft of offerings in Ram temple located in Ayodhya. Police said that the initial report submitted by the SIT to the government two days ago has made strict recommendations. At present the accused are in police custody and are being interrogated.

Police sources said that on the complaint of Trust member Krishna Mohan, a case was registered against persons named Ramshankar Yadav alias Tinnu Yadav, Anukalp Mishra, Avinash Shukla, Karunesh Pandey, Lavkush Mishra, Ramashankar Mishra, Subhash Srivastava and Manish Kumar Yadav and some unknown people at Shri Ram Janmabhoomi police station.

After the case of alleged theft of donations and offerings to Ram in Ayodhya came to light, the Trust had requested for a special investigation, after which on the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, SIT was formed to investigate the matter.

According to a statement issued by the state government, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had said that an impartial investigation by the SIT will result in ‘milk of milk and water of water’ and the culprits will not be spared.
