Ayodhya, 26 June. Taking major action in the case of alleged irregularities and theft in the offerings of Ram temple, the police have arrested eight accused including Ramashankar Yadav alias Tinnu Yadav, who is considered close to the general secretary of the trust Champat Rai. All the accused will be presented in the court on Friday. Police will ask for his 14-day remand for in-depth interrogation. The first FIR in this case was registered on Thursday evening on the complaint of Ram Mandir Trust member Krishna Mohan.
Ramashankar Yadav alias Tinnu Yadav, Luvkush Mishra, Anukalp Mishra, Manish Yadav, Avinash Shukla, Karunesh Pandey, Subhash Chandra Srivastava and Ramashankar Mishra have been named in the FIR. It is alleged that all of them were involved in the work to counting the offerings coming to the temple and managing donations. However, the names of Ram Mandir Trust General Secretary Champat Rai, Dr. Anil Mishra and other senior officials of the Trust have not been included in the FIR.
Let us tell you that the matter of alleged irregularities in offerings came to light for the first time on June 7. After this, the Uttar Pradesh government constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) on 13 June. The SIT submitted its preliminary investigation report on June 23 to Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Sanjay Prasad, who is also an ex-officio member of the Ram Mandir Trust.
After the FIR was registered in the case, Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak said that the government is taking the entire episode seriously. He made it clear that whoever is found guilty in the investigation, strict action will be taken against him under the law. At present, the police is taking the investigation of the case forward and preparing to interrogate the accused.
