An important notice has been issued for students, parents, and teachers across the country who use NCERT books. The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has advised everyone to be vigilant regarding counterfeit and pirated versions of its textbooks. The Council states that fake study material is being circulated through various unauthorized websites, social media platforms, and messaging groups. Such material may contain incorrect information or incomplete content, which could adversely affect students' studies. NCERT has urged everyone to obtain books and digital content solely from official sources.

The Council noted that, recently, several instances of counterfeit copies of its books being circulated—both online and offline—have come to light. Some material is even being shared on the internet prior to its official publication, which is a violation of regulations.

**Fake Version of Class 9 Book Found**
NCERT has specifically identified a counterfeit version of the Class 9 Social Science textbook titled "Understanding Society: India and Beyond (Part-1)." According to the Council, such fake books may contain incorrect facts, incomplete chapters, altered content, or entirely misleading information. This could negatively impact students' studies and exam preparation.

**Download Only from Official Platforms**
The Council clarified that all its textbooks are officially released only after completing the prescribed publication process. Therefore, students and parents should download digital books only from trusted sources such as the official NCERT website, the e-Pathshala portal, and the mobile app. It is advised to avoid relying on any unknown websites or social media links.

**Action Against Copyright Violation**
NCERT stated that copying, printing, selling, or sharing books without authorization constitutes a violation of the law. Legal action may be taken in such cases under the Copyright Act, 1957, and other relevant laws. The Council is taking action against those involved in creating and disseminating fake educational material and has also appealed to the public to report such incidents.
