Focus on Chhath Ghat, green area and better connectivity

Under the scheme, permanent Chhath Ghats will be constructed on the banks of Munak Canal, so that devotees can get better facilities during the festival. Apart from this, emphasis is also being laid on developing green areas around the canal, creating walking paths and public use spaces.

The government believes that this project will not only promote religious and social activities, but will also see positive improvement in the local environment. Also, with the strengthening of connectivity in the surrounding areas, movement of people will also become easier.

Journey from neglected area to modern public place

The vision shared by the Delhi Government calls for developing Munak Canal as a modern public destination that can become a new example of the capital's urban development model. Presently neglected in many parts, this corridor will be revamped through beautification, infrastructure development and public facilities.

If the project is implemented as per the prescribed standards, this area can become an important center of entertainment, social activities and cultural events for the local residents. Also, this initiative can prove to be an important step towards strengthening the urban infrastructure of Delhi.
