Dev Anand had reached Pakistan with Atal Bihari Vajpayee, cried holding the wall in Lahore, don’t know why he became emotional?

New Delhi. An emotional story to veteran Bollywood actor Dev Anand is still discussed among the people. In the year 1999, when the message of friendship was given from India to Pakistan during the bus tour of the then Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Dev Anand was also included in this delegation.

Dev Anand had reached Lahore, Pakistan in that bus journey. Indian Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee was present with him, while on behalf of Pakistan, the then Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif welcomed him. This was the same Lahore where Dev Anand did his studies, graduating in English Literature from Government College.

After reaching Lahore, Dev Anand got lost in his old memories. It is said that as soon as he reached the college campus, he became emotional and started crying, holding the walls and doors. Tears were not stopping from his eyes even while sitting on the stage.

    During this, he also refreshed an old memory to his college life and emotionally took the name of “Usha”. Usha was the love of his life, whom he loved very much during his student days.

    Dev Anand’s full name was Dharamdev Pishorimal Anand. He was born in the Shakargarh region of Punjab in undivided India, which became part of Pakistan after partition. He came to Mumbai (then Bombay) in 1943 with only 30 rupees and from here he made his mark in the film world.

    In his long career, Dev Anand acted in more than 100 films and gave many memorable characters to Indian cinema. His popularity was not only in India, but also in Pakistan and many countries of the world.
