Liverpool could soon see two of their key players make the switch to Tottenham Hotspur during the upcoming summer transfer window.

The North London club, which narrowly avoided relegation last season, is moving aggressively in the market to ensure a much stronger campaign this time around.

Meanwhile, the 2024/25 Premier League champions are aiming to rediscover their winning touch under newly appointed manager Andoni Iraola, following a disappointing second season under Arne Slot at Anfield.

Liverpool’s long-serving left-back Andy Robertson brought his nine-year tenure with the Reds to an end at the close of the 2025/26 season when he departed from Anfield.

The Scottish defender, who is currently representing his nation at the 2026 World Cup, could soon be joined in London by a familiar face from Merseyside who is also impressing on the global stage.

Cody Gakpo, enjoying an impressive 2026 World Cup campaign for the Netherlands with three goal involvements to his name, is reportedly being targeted by Tottenham Hotspur as well.

According to TEAMtalk, Spurs have opened discussions with Liverpool regarding the Dutch forward’s potential move to North London.

This development follows Liverpool’s acquisition of Spain’s Victor Munoz, an emerging La Liga talent expected to compete for a spot on the left wing — a position Gakpo has frequently occupied.

It also comes amid Tottenham’s prolonged pursuit of Manchester City winger Savinho, with reports suggesting that the club is now reassessing its options and considering Gakpo as a viable alternative.

Gakpo endured a difficult individual campaign under his compatriot Arne Slot in 2025/26 and is said to be uncertain about his future role at Anfield under Iraola, who hails from the Basque region.

The arrival of Munoz — a signing personally advocated for by Iraola — has further clouded the picture regarding Gakpo’s place in the starting lineup.

Adding to the uncertainty is the departure of Mohamed Salah, whose influence was instrumental in Gakpo’s peak performances. Without the Egyptian’s consistent brilliance last season, Gakpo’s form noticeably dipped.
