Serie A powerhouse AC Milan appear to have finally established a stable sporting structure, but new manager Ruben Amorim is expected to play a decisive role in shaping the club’s transfer activity this summer.
Over recent weeks, several names have surfaced as potential targets for the Rossoneri. According to Gianluca Di Marzio, two of those names have particularly caught Amorim’s attention.
The players in question are Sporting CP’s winger Trincao and midfielder Morten Hjulmand. The Danish midfielder had also been frequently linked with Amorim during his time in connection with Manchester United’s managerial speculation.
Although these two players are being seriously considered, Amorim is reportedly keen to evaluate Milan’s current squad before making any significant transfer commitments. He intends to assess how the existing players fit into his preferred 3-4-2-1 formation before finalising any incoming signings.
The same report notes that, despite rumours linking Pedro Goncalves with a move to San Siro, he does not currently feature on Milan’s shortlist of targets.
It seems increasingly likely that Amorim will hold substantial influence over Milan’s transfer dealings. However, some observers believe that such a level of control may not be ideal for a club of Milan’s stature, given that managers can sometimes make decisions driven by personal connections or sentiment rather than long-term strategy.
That said, Milan should be aware that both Trincao and Hjulmand are unlikely to be inexpensive options, and any move for them would require careful financial consideration.
