Social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, experienced a widespread outage on June 22, leaving thousands of users unable to access key features of the platform. According to outage tracking website DownDetector, more than 11,000 users reported issues with X during the afternoon.
Reports of disruptions began to surge around 2:45 PM, with users complaining about problems affecting the mobile app, feed refreshes, timelines, and the website itself. The outage quickly triggered discussions across other social media platforms as users searched for updates on the issue.
Data from DownDetector showed that nearly 49% of reported problems were linked to the X mobile application. Another 28% of users said they were unable to access or refresh their feeds and timelines, while 15% reported issues with the website version of the platform.
Many frustrated users took to other online forums to share their experiences. One user commented that the platform has been facing recurring stability issues, while another reported difficulties loading content and accessing features on X.
The Elon Musk-owned social media platform has faced several service disruptions over the past year. While many of these outages have been resolved quickly, recurring technical issues have raised concerns among users about the platform’s reliability.
As of now, X has not issued an official statement explaining the cause of the outage. Users are advised to monitor the platform’s official channels for updates regarding service restoration.
