While taking the name of India, he mentioned his wife (Usha Vance), while on behalf of Pakistan he took the name of (Asim Munir).
While interacting with the media, Vance smilingly said that the most important Indian and Pakistani people in his life are his wife Usha Vance and Pakistan’s Field Marshal Asim Munir respectively. His statement was given in a light-hearted manner, but its political meaning is also being inferred.

What did Vance say on America-Iran talks?
Vance also commented on the talks between the US and Iran taking place in Switzerland. He said that currently the talks are focused on technical issues and the aim is to understand the priorities of different parties and reduce differences.
According to him, for the first time all parties are moving towards finding solutions by sitting on a common platform. He said the presence of political leadership gives the negotiating teams confidence that they have top-level support and will help overcome any obstacles.
Emphasis on ceasefire and diplomacy
The US Vice President said that Donald Trump is committed to establishing lasting peace and ceasefire in the Middle East. He claimed that in recent times, positive progress has been made in reducing tensions and taking forward dialogue in the region.
Vance said America’s efforts are not limited to resolving the immediate crisis, but to creating an environment in which countries in the region can move forward in the future on the basis of peace, stability and economic cooperation.
Process advanced in talks with Iran
Parallel to the talks, a trilateral meeting between US and Iranian representatives with Qatari mediators was also held. According to reports, Iran assured that its nuclear program will not be for the purpose of weapons manufacturing. At the same time, talks have also progressed on some economic and financial issues.
However, many complex issues still remain between the two sides and several further rounds of negotiations may be required to reach a final agreement. Vance also acknowledged that there is still a lot of work left, but all sides are positive and excited about the negotiation process.
