Nitin Nabin in Punjab: Speculation over a major organisational reshuffle in the BJP gained momentum on Monday after party president Nitin Nabin decided to end his Punjab visit earlier than planned.
According to the original schedule, Nabin was expected to travel from Ludhiana to Chandigarh and meet Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria. He was also scheduled to attend a dinner hosted by Punjab BJP chief Kewal Dhillon at his residence in Sector 9, Chandigarh, where several prominent personalities from the state were expected to be present.
However, both engagements were cancelled as Nabin decided to return directly to Delhi from Ludhiana on Monday afternoon.
Sources in the party indicated that important organisational meetings may take place in Delhi later in the day. The development comes shortly after Prime Minister Narendra Modi returned from the G7 Summit and completed his engagements related to International Yoga Day.
The BJP is expected to announce long-awaited organisational changes soon. Party insiders say discussions regarding the restructuring process have been underway for some time.
Before leaving Punjab, Nitin Nabin met noted agricultural scientist Sardara Singh Johl in Ludhiana. During the meeting, the two discussed issues related to Punjab's agriculture sector and the challenges faced by farmers in the state.
