Indian Embassy confirms Doha candidate count“NEET 2026 was successfully conducted in Doha, Qatar. A total of 598 students appeared from Doha. We thank NTA, Indian schools in Qatar and everyone involved for the smooth conduct of the examination. Wishing all candidates the very best!” the embassy posted on X.
NEET-UG scores are used for admission to undergraduate medical and dental programmes. The examination is held at selected overseas centres for eligible Indian and foreign candidates. The Doha centre allowed students living in Qatar to take the test without travelling to India.
Over 20 lakh candidates appear for NEET re-examMore than 20 lakh candidates appeared at 5,440 centres across India and 14 overseas destinations. The examination was conducted in 13 languages.
The NTA used Aadhaar-based biometric checks, facial verification, CCTV cameras and signal jammers. Candidates underwent two rounds of frisking. Control rooms set up by the NTA, Education Ministry, state authorities and district administrations monitored centres in real time.
Nearly seven lakh personnel, including police teams and observers, helped conduct the examination. Special arrangements were made for more than 10,000 candidates with disabilities and 81 students with serious medical conditions.
NTA responds to paper leak concernsNTA Director General Abhishek Singh said, “So far, we have not received any complaints regarding a question paper leak. NTA is working aggressively to ensure the integrity of the process. We are 100 per cent confident.”
Early reactions suggested Physics was the toughest section. Biology was considered easier, and Chemistry ranged from moderate to difficult.
The NTA will now start evaluating the answer sheets. The agency expects to announce the results faster than usual after shortening the re-examination cycle to 37 days.
