After inspecting the site on Sunday, he remarked, "Work will begin immediately on fixing the seriously vandalized Reflecting Pool. I just inspected it, and could only say to myself, and those gathered around me, WOW, who would do such a thing? SICK, DERANGED PEOPLE! We will fix it." According to an associate producer at the White House, 14 police reports have been filed regarding the alleged vandalism, with five individuals arrested and another five receiving federal citations.
