Special program in UP on International Yoga Day, CM Yogi practiced yoga in Jhansi, said- Yoga is necessary for a healthy life.

Jhansi, 21 June. On the occasion of International Yoga Day, special yoga programs were organized on a large scale in Uttar Pradesh on Sunday. The Governor, the Chief Minister, both the Deputy Chief Ministers, the Assembly Speaker, the Legislative Council Chairman and all the ministers of the government practiced yoga at their respective designated places and gave the message of awareness about yoga. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath participated in the state level yoga program organized at Jhansi Fort grounds and practiced yoga with thousands of people.

On this occasion, he said that the credit for giving global recognition to India’s ancient yoga tradition goes to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that by establishing India’s cultural heritage on the world stage, the Prime Minister has shown the path to 140 crore Indians to move forward with pride and realize the dream of a developed India.

CM Yogi said that Prime Minister Modi visits different states every year to take International Yoga Day programs to new heights. He considered it a privilege to participate in the program organized on the historical land of Jhansi. Also remembered Maharani Lakshmibai, the heroine of the first freedom struggle of 1857, and paid tribute to her.

The Chief Minister greeted the people of the state, Bundelkhand and the countrymen on Yoga Day from the courtyard of Maharani Lakshmibai Fort. He said that Yoga Day was also organized in Lucknow under the leadership of Governor Anandiben Patel, while Yoga programs were organized in all the districts, divisions, municipal bodies and panchayat level of the state. He described it as a symbol of respect and awareness towards the glorious tradition of India.

In his address, the Chief Minister said that this year the theme of Yoga Day is “Yoga for Healthy Aging”. He said that yoga is very important for a healthy life. It has always been believed in Indian culture that it is possible to achieve all four pursuits of life only through a healthy body. He said that healthy students, teachers, farmers, workers, scientists and citizens become the basis of progress of the society and nation. Only a healthy citizen can play an important role in building a strong and prosperous nation. The Chief Minister called upon all people to make yoga a part of their daily lifestyle.
