New Delhi. Famous Bollywood director Imtiaz Ali is recently in the news for his film ‘I will be back’. She has made a controversial comment on the practice of burqa and purdah, which has sparked debate on social media. He says that when women say that they are comfortable in burqa, it is a sign of a backward society.

Imtiaz Ali, while discussing society and culture in ‘Unfiltered with Samdish’ podcast recently, said that he dislikes it very much when people say that they are comfortable in burqa. He clarified that if someone feels like this, it is the hallmark of a backward society.

He further said that this means that the feeling of victimization has become deep in the mind of the person. He also said that he is not saying this to interrupt anyone or to go to anyone’s house, but this is his personal belief.

Finally, Imtiaz Ali said that he wonders where the balanced minded people are. He also said that nowadays people have become very extremist and if someone’s thinking is different, then we should not hate him.
