Barhi, Hazaribagh, Jharkhand:- Lalan Yadav and 10th class student Tanu Kumari were honored for their remarkable contribution in the field of preservation and promotion of folk art in the state level workshop and exhibition organized in Varanasi. Artists, educationists and art lovers from different districts of the state participated on this occasion.
The chief guest of the program, Dr. Sunil Kumar Vishwakarma, Chairman, Department of Fine Arts, Uttar Pradesh, Dr. Uttama Dixit, Dean, Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapeeth, Varanasi honored both the participants by giving them citations and mementos. In his address, he said that folk art is our cultural heritage and active participation of youth is very important for its preservation and propagation. The school family also expressed happiness over this achievement. D.A.V at school level Principal of School, Barhi, Pushp Kumar Jha honored Lalan Yadav and Tanu Kumari and praised their excellent work and also inspired other students to preserve their cultural heritage. There is an atmosphere of happiness in the school and Barhi area due to this honour. The people present at the program wished both the participants a bright future and described their efforts as important towards the preservation of folk art.
