In his address, Shah said that there is a need to connect the entire process of criminal cases in the country from investigation to conviction in the court with technology. He believes that with the help of digital system, forensic science and strong fingerprint database, identification of criminals will be easier and cases will be solved quickly. He also said that sometimes small technical information plays an important role in solving big crimes.
The Home Minister also stressed on increasing mutual coordination with the police and investigative agencies of the states. He said that if the data of all the states is better connected then it will be easier to reach the criminals operating in different states. With this, effective action can also be taken against organized crime and interstate gangs.
The government has been continuously working on strengthening the forensic infrastructure and digital criminal justice system for some time. In such a situation, this statement of Amit Shah is being considered as another important step in this direction. In the coming time, the role of technology in the functioning of investigating agencies may increase further, which is expected to speed up the judicial process.
