Chennai. Fast bowler Harshit Rana has been included in the Indian team for the third and final ODI against Afghanistan after recovering from a knee injury. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) made this announcement on Friday.
Rana was injured during the practice match against South Africa before the T20 World Cup. He suffered a muscle strain below his right knee and underwent surgery in February. Due to this reason he could not play in the T20 World Cup and Indian Premier League.
Rana has joined the team ahead of the final match of the series on Saturday. India has an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series. “Harshit Rana has completed his rehabilitation at the BCCI Center of Excellence (COE) and has joined the ODI team in Chennai,” BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia said in a media release.
Squad for the third ODI against Afghanistan: Shubman Gill (captain), Rohit Sharma, Shreyas Iyer (vice-captain), KL Rahul (wicketkeeper), Ishan Kishan (wicketkeeper), Nitish Kumar Reddy, Washington Sundar, Kuldeep Yadav, Arshdeep Singh, Prasidh Krishna, Prince Yadav, Gurnoor Brar, Harsh Dubey, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Harshit Rana.
