Brazil and Haiti are set to face off in their Group C second-round encounter, with both nations eager to bounce back after falling short of a win in their opening fixtures.

Brazil enters this match in overall good form, though their World Cup campaign began quietly with a 1-1 draw against Morocco in their first group outing.

Before the tournament, Brazil showcased their attacking flair in warm-up matches, registering emphatic wins over Panama (6-2) and Croatia (3-1), as well as a narrow 2-1 success against Egypt. Their only hiccup in that sequence was a tight 2-1 loss to France.

For this second Group C contest, Brazil will once again have to cope without Neymar. The Brazilian Football Confederation has confirmed that he remains at the team’s training base, continuing rehabilitation from a right calf injury.

Head coach Carlo Ancelotti is expected to tweak his lineup after a below-par showing versus Morocco.

With Neymar sidelined, Matheus Cunha is tipped to lead the attack. He will likely be flanked by Vinícius Júnior on one wing and Raphinha on the other, adding both speed and creativity to Brazil’s forward play.

Rising stars such as Endrick and Gabriel Martinelli are also in contention for minutes, possibly being introduced from the bench to inject energy in the later phases of the match.

In midfield, Casemiro may be rested, paving the way for Fabinho to start alongside Bruno Guimarães, forming a balanced and industrious central pairing.

In defence, Brazil is expected to retain its core structure, with Alisson in goal behind the centre-back duo of Marquinhos and Gabriel. The focus will be on tightening the defensive unit and aiming for a clean sheet.

Predicted Brazil starting XI: Alisson; Danilo, Marquinhos, Gabriel, Santos; Fabinho, Guimarães; Raphinha, Paquetá, Vinícius; Cunha

The match is scheduled to kick off at 1:30am BST on Saturday, 20 June.
