Rotterdam. Indian men’s hockey team defender and dragflick specialist Jugraj Singh on Thursday achieved a significant feat as he completed 100 international matches. He achieved this feat during the FIH Pro League match against Germany. Hockey India congratulated him on this occasion.
29-year-old Jugraj Singh, who hails from Amritsar, Punjab, made his debut for the Indian senior team during the FIH Pro League held in South Africa in the year 2022. After this, he made an important place in the team on the basis of his accurate drag-flick and strong defensive game.
Jugraj has been a part of many notable successes for India. He was a member of the gold medal winning Indian team at the Men’s Hockey Asia Cup 2025 held in Rajgir, Bihar in the year 2025. Apart from this, he also played an important role in the team winning gold medals in the Asian Championship Trophy held in Chennai in 2023 and China in 2024. His account also includes a silver medal from the 2022 Commonwealth Games.
Expressing happiness over this achievement, Jugraj Singh said that it is a matter of pride and honor for him to play 100 international matches for India. He expressed his gratitude to his family, Hockey India, coaches and teammates for their support and trust. He said that his aim is to work hard in the future and contribute to the success of the team and achieve greater achievements for the country.
Hockey India President Dilip Tirkey praised Jugraj and said that he has made great progress since his debut. His ability to score penalty corners and strong defense are extremely important for the Indian team.
