Natural farming workshop and public awareness campaign organized on completion of 12 years of Government of India, appeal to farmers to adopt organic and natural farming

To commemorate the completion of 12 years of the Government of India, a natural farming workshop and public awareness campaign was organized in the office of Deputy Agriculture Director, Mangurahi, Sonbhadra under the chairmanship of Honorable MLA Ghoraval Shri Anil Kumar Maurya. Many public representatives and farmers including BJP District President Nand Lal Gupta, Block Chief Robertsganj Ajit Rawat, former MP Ramskal, District Minister Prasanna Patel participated in the program.

The program was started by lighting the lamp by the guests. First of all, while giving information about the natural farming program run by the Agriculture Department, Deputy Agriculture Director Rajkumar said that there are 22 natural farming clusters operating in the district, with which 2750 farmers are associated. He stressed on promoting chemical-free and healthy agriculture through the use of Jeevamrit, Ghanjeevamrit, Bijamrit, Dashaparni and Neemastra. Former MP Shri Ramskal called upon the farmers to reduce the use of chemical fertilizers and adopt natural farming and advised them to increase their income by taking benefits of Kisan Credit Card, crop insurance and other schemes.

Progressive farmer Shri Vidyapati, while sharing his experience of organic farming, explained the benefits of cow dung manure and natural farming techniques. He also presented examples of success of natural farming in vegetable production. Honorable MLA Ghoraval Anil Kumar Maurya called upon the farmers to contribute in building a healthy society by adopting chemical-free farming. Emphasizing on maximum use of coarse grains, he said that natural farming method is very important for health protection and environmental balance. Dinesh Biar and other speakers in the program also inspired the farmers to use crops like Sanai, Dhaincha as green manure and promote natural farming. In the end, District Agriculture Officer Virendra Kumar expressed his gratitude to all the participants while giving information about departmental schemes and available seeds.
