Manchester United are reportedly one of several Premier League sides keeping a close eye on Como midfielder Martin Baturina.
The 23-year-old Croatian has seen his reputation rise rapidly following an outstanding debut campaign in Italian football during the 2025/26 season, marking his first move away from his home country.
Baturina registered eight goals and four assists across 34 appearances, playing a crucial role in guiding Como to Champions League qualification. His impressive form has drawn the attention of Manchester United, who are themselves preparing for a return to Europe’s elite competition after a two-year absence.
Along with United, Aston Villa are also understood to be in pursuit of Baturina. However, both Premier League clubs face stiff competition from Bayern Munich, with the Bundesliga champions already making inquiries about his potential availability. Leeds United had previously attempted to sign the midfielder but were unsuccessful in earlier transfer windows.
Any prospective transfer will not be straightforward, as Como’s management have adopted a firm stance on their valuation of the player. The ambitious Serie A side have already rejected an initial €50 million bid for their highly rated midfielder, who has been described as possessing ‘immense quality’.
Under the mentorship of manager Cesc Fabregas, Baturina has become a central figure in Como’s tactical setup. The club has no intention of parting ways with their star player unless they receive a premium offer that matches his importance to the team.
Baturina’s profile was further elevated at the World Cup, where he scored a spectacular goal against England and consistently troubled the Three Lions throughout their encounter. His performances on the global stage have only cemented his growing reputation and market value.
While Como remain firm in their resolve to retain Baturina, the financial strength of Premier League powerhouses such as Manchester United and Aston Villa could ultimately test the Italian club’s determination in the coming transfer window.
