João Félix: "We Scored and Then Slowed Down a Little"

João Félix, a forward for the Portugal national team, believes Roberto Martínez’s side will improve its performance, starting with the match against Uzbekistan (Tuesday, 18:00). Speaking to LiveMode, the Al Nassr player recalled that Portugal started the match well but then lowered the intensity.
"I think we started well. In the first three minutes, DR Congo didn’t even touch the ball. We started well, pressing them, keeping the ball in their half. We scored the goal and from that point we slowed down a little. We kept possession, but more in midfield, which is always dangerous because if you lose the ball there… They immediately end up in our half with a lot of space. After that, the game stayed the same. We adjusted a little, managed to get a few more players into the box, which is important. No matter how small we are, if we have people in the area, we are much closer to scoring. We need to improve, look at what we didn’t do well, and correct it in the next match so that we can win," he began.
"We will definitely improve. The first match is always the first match. Even if it is against a weaker team, they are playing for their country. If it is a dream for us, it is a dream for them as well. They always give a little bit extra," he said before joking with his friend and YouTuber, MoveMind.
"I saw where you were. I was thinking that if I scored, I would go over there, take off your wig, put it on my head, and celebrate wearing the wig," he concluded.
