Amidst the major turmoil in Maharashtra politics, 6 MPs of Uddhav Thackeray group have decided to form a separate party and then support Eknath Shinde. For this, a letter has also been submitted to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla. However, Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena UBT is still hopeful that these rebel MPs are not with the Shinde faction.
In fact, UBT Lok Sabha MP Arvind Sawant has issued a whip and called a meeting of his party’s parliamentary party, in which he wants to see all the 9 MPs attending the meeting. On Shiv Sena’s Operation Tiger, Sawant said that he has full faith in his MPs.
According to the report of ABP Majha, Arvind Sawant has made a big claim and also said that Eknath Shinde has not fulfilled the promises of two of the six rebel MPs. That’s why he didn’t sign. Therefore, he is hopeful that these two MPs will also attend the parliamentary party meeting. However, Shiv Sena UBT is not aware whether all the Lok Sabha MPs are with them or not.
It is also important to clarify that there is no official information yet whether Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena has made the signatures of 6 MPs official or whether Om Birla has been given a letter with signatures.
At present, Uddhav Thackeray has instructed his MPs and leaders not to make any comments against the rebel MPs. Meanwhile, it is worth noting that today (Thursday, June 18) there is a meeting of the parliamentary party of Shiv Sena UBT. The loyalty of the MPs will be proved through this proposed meeting at 11.00 am.
If sources are to be believed, the Uddhav Thackeray group is confident that their 6 MPs are not with Eknath Shinde. At present, whip has been issued for all the MPs. It remains to be seen how many MPs come to the meeting and who will be the MPs attending? Only after this the role of the party can be decided.
UBT claims that the two MPs have not signed because their promises have not been fulfilled. In such a situation, it remains to be seen whether Shiv Sena’s Operation Tiger is completed or not. Till now no official statement has come from both the parties.
First of all, on June 10, Operation Tiger was discussed between Amit Shah and Eknath Shinde. On June 10 itself, Amit Shah and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis met and flagged off the operation. On June 10, Uddhav Thackeray’s MPs came to Delhi and met Eknath Shinde at a five star hotel.
On June 14, Uddhav Thackeray called a meeting of the parliamentary party at his residence. Anil Desai, Arvind Sawant and Rajabhau Waje attended the meeting. Apart from this, Nagesh Ashtikar and Sanjay Deshmukh joined online. However, Omraje Nimbalkar, Bhausaheb Wakchore, Sanjay Jadhav remained absent from the meeting.
On June 15, Sanjay Deshmukh came to Delhi and met Prataprao Jadhav. On June 16, news came that 6 MPs of Uddhav Thackeray had left for Delhi at night. At the same time, Eknath Shinde also came to Delhi from Mumbai.
On June 17, Sanjay Raut, Anil Desai, Arvind Sawant and Rajabhau Waje held a press conference. Six rebel MPs of Uddhav Thackeray talked about forming an independent group and wrote a letter to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla.
Now on June 18, a whip has been issued for Shiv Sena UBT MPs and a parliamentary party meeting has been called at 11.00 am.
